Floating Glass Shelves

Floating glass shelves hang on a concealed solid brass bracket, so the shelf appears to float off the wall with no visible supports underneath. The bracket carries the load from behind; nothing interrupts the line of the glass.

Each shelf is available in 18, 24 and 30 inch lengths, with tempered glass and solid brass hardware, in 28 designer finishes from Polished Chrome and Satin Nickel to Unlacquered Brass, Antique Bronze and Matte Black.

With or without a gallery rail

A gallery rail is a low brass lip that runs along the front and sides of the shelf. It keeps bottles and glassware from sliding off, which makes the railed version the usual choice for a bar, a powder room vanity or anywhere the shelf sits at eye level. Without the rail, the shelf reads cleaner and works better for folded towels or decorative objects.

Where they work

Floating glass shelves suit bathrooms above a vanity or beside a mirror, home bars and butler's pantries where backlit glass shows off bottles, and kitchens where a solid shelf would feel heavy. Because the glass is transparent, the shelf takes up visual space without closing in a small room, which is why it is a common choice for powder rooms and narrow guest baths.

Made to order

Every shelf is assembled to order in our Louisa, Virginia workshop. Brackets are solid brass rather than plated zinc, so the finish wears rather than flakes, and the shelf can be re-glassed years later without replacing the hardware.
